Practical insights you can apply to your client projects immediately
The Fonts to Wordmarks Workshop Replay is a 1.5-hour deep dive into how I approach polishing custom type and transforming simple letterforms into logos with presence and clarity. If you’re a brand or logo designer who wants your work to feel more considered, more elevated, and more strategically built — this is for you.
Learn how to refine your custom type and build logos that feel intentional.
This workshop is designed to help you bridge the gap between "this looks fine" and "this feels intentional." We’ll walk through how to shape letterforms with purpose, what to look for when refining custom type, and how to evaluate your logos from the perspective of a type designer – so you can produce work that’s clean, polished, and built to last.
Whether you’re customizing an existing font or drawing something completely new, you’ll learn how to identify the small adjustments that create polished, confident wordmarks that hold up across real brand applications.

How to vectorize in Illustrator (with the pen tool) and properly use Bezier curves
We'll work in Adobe Illustrator for vector work, and use what you have available for sketching. That could be a mechanical pencil and eraser, paper, and tracing paper, or you could use your iPad if that's more comfortable. Whatever works!
Definitely not! I mention it in the workshop just because I absolutely love it for editing vector curves, but you definitely don't need it for this workshop.
Not necessarily! That's what I'll be working in, but if you have a vector editing software you prefer, feel free to use that! The same principles apply – proper Bezier curve placement and handle balancing (you'll get what I mean after the workshop haha).
Sure! It's an unedited, casual workshop replay rather than a polished course, so just be aware of that going into it!
If you’ve been wanting to improve your eye, trust your instincts more, and refine your typography with more ease, you’ll get a lot out of this session!
